MONT ST MICHEL

Do any of you out there have a “Bucket list?”

I really have never kept a list of things that I want to achieve in my life… Oh, I had my wishes, that I would find the man of my dreams, have children, see Hailey’s Comet, have grandchildren…but I never really kept a “Bucket list”, until I started traveling. I could open the atlas and choose any number of places to go, and if I could logistically connect dots around the areas I dreamed of visiting, I could most likely make it happen!

Well, this past week one of my dreamt about “bucket kind of thing on my list” happened! We visited Mont St Michel in Brittany,North France. To me, it was the epitome of romance and splendor in it’s medieval glory sitting out there with the tide rolling in day and night making it an island. And finally being able to be there was a dream come true!

Three years ago we were almost there, but without a car to drive us out to the coast, it was nearly impossible. We discussed renting a car to go for the day, but then chickened out, because it just didn’t feel right.So, we waited and it wait was worth it! We had a beautiful day with the sun shining and a lovely climb up through the cobbled streets and up to  the church that sits anointing the top of the rock the village was built on.

There were beautiful vistas and we were all pleased to have had the opportunity to be there.
